I finally put the finishing touches on the Heartland Boho Crochet Wrap by All About Ami to gift to a friend for their birthday. Which means it took me a couple months to weave in the ends lol.
This was a nice pattern that worked up quick. Not to mention I just love a pattern that starts out with a few stitches that you just keep expanding until completed.
I had found this yarn at Joann and thought it would be great for a summer wrap since it had a bit of wool as one of the fibers. Perfect for the cooler So Cal summer nights we enjoy. Looks like this was a limited yarn so I will have to try the Heartland yarn for the next wrap I make.
I have a confession to make – this was the second one I made. The first time around I had the craziest mental block when I made the shell stitch for this pattern and did 1-dc, 1-ch, 1-dc (should have been a single crochet instead of a chain). I looked at the pattern 50 times and still couldn’t see the mistake even when I felt like something was off. I finally realized what I had done when I was down to the last couple rows. I worked on a couple blankets that had a shell stitch with a chain so that must have been stuck in my head. Oh well, that other one was cute too, just wasn’t this pattern so had to try again.
Below is that first wrap. Instead of the picot edging I did alternating stitches of double crochet and slip stitch. Not sure if there is a name for it, but I just love the little wave pattern it makes. You have to do the stitch on the backside of your work to see if from the frontside.
